We're working with farmers to implement methods that draw hens further into the pasture. Incorporating trees in a silvopasture system helps ensure the best possible quality of life for the hens and the nutritional quality of the eggs they produce. It also offers farmers the opportunity to diversify their pastures. It’s a win-win for everyone.

How We Work
We’ll help you activate a program with your suppliers to create projects that meet your goals
Program Activation
Build crop and practice-based programs for your producers that are tailored to their land and align with your sustainability targets.
Planting & Management
We make it easy to implement realistic, functional regenerative systems with our genetic stock, equipment, and labor partners.
Show Your Impact
We help you measure and share data with individual farms and aggregate program-level impacts — such as environmental and social KPIs.

What Will Your Program Deliver?
Agroforestry delivers a multitude of environmental and social benefits
Climate & Carbon
Verifiable Carbon Sequestration
Agroforestry has the potential to help mitigate climate change through carbon sequestration. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store it in their wood, leaves, and roots, which helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Verifiable Biodiversity Gains
Agroforestry enhances biodiversity and ecosystem services by providing habitat for a wide range of species, above & below ground, while supporting the natural processes that sustain life on earth.
Ingredients & Sourcing
New Product Ingredients
Tree crops can provide brands with access to nuts, oils, fibers, and medicinal plants that can be used in food, beauty, and wellness products.
Sustainable Sourcing
Differentiate your products with sustainably and ethically sourced ingredients. Sourcing materials from agroforestry systems demonstrates a commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
On-Farm Sustainability
Soil Degradation & Water Runoff Prevention
Agroforestry can reduce soil erosion, increase water retention and improve soil health, which can lead to increased crop yields and reduced reliance on synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.
Crop & Income Diversification
Agroforestry can provide economic benefits for farmers and rural communities through increased income and employment opportunities. By diversifying their land use, farmers can reduce their reliance on a single crop or animal and increase their resilience to market fluctuations and weather-related disasters.
Wellness & Livelihoods
Better Nutrition
Agroforestry can improve food security and nutrition in rural areas by providing a diverse range of nutritious foods, including fruits, nuts, and animal products.
Increase Rural Employment
In addition, agroforestry can provide employment and income opportunities for rural communities, particularly for women who may have limited access to other economic opportunities.

Practices We Support
Agroforestry is the integration of fruit, nut and timber trees with animal or crop farming systems. We work with tree species that have attractive supply-demand dynamics and strong growth prospects.

Now Accepting Applications for The Expanding Agroforestry Project
Eligible producers in the United States are invited to apply to an incentive payment program from the USDA. Over the course of five years, $36 million will be paid out to producers in direct incentive payments to transform 30,000 acres spanning 30 states into agroforestry systems, thus building a foundation for expanding agroforestry practices nationally.
Chestnuts & Agroforestry: Massive Opportunity for American Farmers
Producing chestnuts in the United States represents a significant opportunity for farmers to meet a growing and underserved demand. In 2022, the U.S. imported roughly 6.7 million pounds valued at $9.8 million. That demand could easily be satisfied with domestic production, bringing substantial profit to farmers.
Silvopasture Creates Profitable and Resilient Food Systems
Livestock producers face increasing threats to farm viability from thin profit margins to extreme weather, and shifting consumer demand. Silvopasture, a form of agroforestry, is one tool in our regenerative toolkit that provides a host of benefits to producers, consumers and the planet simultaneously.
